Enzo Marangelo will stage the show Io credo a Cassandra, (“I believe Cassandra”) based on on a text that Christa Wolf wrote in 1983. The prophet, daughter of Hecuba and Priam, tells the story of the fall and ruin of her city, remembering the crossing of the Aegean sea during the tempest.
«Cassandra is a moral attitude.
It deals with the dual nexus of prophecy-blindness.
Io credo a Cassandra asks a question: who is Cassandra today.
At the core of the play, is the myth reconsidered in contemporary times.
The presence of far too many Cassandra’s demonstrates the connection between truth and death: he who knows an inconvenient truth must die».
