La mostra Invisible Work • Invisible Art è stata inaugurata a Tbilisi l’8 marzo 2023, in occasione della Giornata Internazionale della Donna, su iniziativa dell’Association of Nannies and Domestic Workers. Nove lavoratrici domestiche hanno condiviso le proprie opere creative (ricami, disegni e tessuti intrecciati) realizzate dopo lunghe giornate di lavoro. Ora questa mostra arriva in Italia, dove migliaia di donne georgiane lavorano come assistenti familiari e caregiver, lontane da casa.

L’iniziativa rientra nel Programma di Study Visit Internazionali di Creative Compass Georgia (CCG), un progetto quadriennale finanziato dall’UE e cofinanziato dal Goethe-Institut Georgien, ed è promossa dalla Fondazione Campania dei Festival. Il progetto mira a favorire l’incontro tra artisti, attivisti culturali e operatori sociali georgiani e le realtà artistiche e comunitarie attive in Campania, attraverso un programma di residenze immersive dedicate alle pratiche performative partecipative, al teatro sociale e ai processi culturali orientati all’inclusione.
Le residenze si svilupperanno in due fasi nel corso del 2026: una prima sessione durante il Campania Teatro Festival, tra giugno e luglio, e una seconda nell’ambito di Quartieri di Vita, tra ottobre e novembre.

WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF CREATIVE COMPASS GEORGIA AND THE CAMPANIA TEATRO FESTIVAL

Invisible Work • Invisible Art was first presented in Tbilisi on 8 March 2023, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, at the initiative of the Association of Nannies and Domestic Workers. Nine domestic workers shared their creative works—embroidery, drawings, and woven textiles—created after long working days. The exhibition now arrives in Italy, where thousands of Georgian women work as caregivers and domestic workers, far from home.

The initiative is part of the International Study Visit Programme under Creative Compass Georgia (CCG), a four-year EU-funded project implemented and co-funded by the Goethe-Institut Georgien, and is promoted by the Fondazione Campania dei Festival. The project aims to foster exchange between Georgian artists, cultural activists, social practitioners, and the artistic and community-based organisations active in the Campania region through a programme of immersive residencies focused on participatory performance practices, social theatre, and inclusive cultural processes.
The residency programme will unfold in two phases during 2026: a first session during the Campania Teatro Festival, between June and July, and a second session within Quartieri di Vita, between October and November
