Suitcases always ready, dazzling smiles, perfectly starched uniforms: these are our flight attendants, a veritable army of men and women with impeccable manners and reassuring charm.
But what is behind this apparently appealing lifestyle of travel? Gennaro Cimmino, a former flight attendant, has brought to the Naples stage this “behind the scenes” view of an unusual and curious profession, depicted through theatre and dance.
Welcome on board is a site-specific performance articulated in different episodes: a steward who finds true love 10.000 km away, a air hostess-dancer who tries to continue her dance career… intimate stories, daily banalities, stories told with irony and passion.
The performances will be held in the foyers of the most important hotels of the city: Hotel Mediterraneo, Palazzo Caracciolo, Royal Continental, Hotel Costantinopoli, Terme di Agnano.
The cultural association Körper was founded in 2003 by Gennaro Cimmino and, even though the main vocation is the production and promotion of dance, it has also produced a series of important projects with a multidisciplinary focus and dialogue between various art forms from dance, theatre, music and contemporary art.
