As part of the Il Sogno Reale project, the Royal Palace of Portici (Reggia di Portici) will put on the play Viaggio nella storia da Carlo di Borbone a Pio IX (Voyage into history from Charles of Bourbon to Pius IX) produced by the association Karma, scripted and directed by Antonio Ruocco. Accompanied by an eighteenth century lady, the play will take visitors on a journey through time spanning a hundred years of history. From the origins with Charles and Maria Amalia, until the fall of the kingdom with Italian Unification. The characters of the show include Charles, Maria Amalia, Ferdinand of Bourbon, his brother Philip, Ferdinand II and Pope Pius IX.
