After the great success of Null and Birth of the Phoenix presented in Naples in 2012, this year the Festival has chosen to commission a new performance to Vertigo Dance Company. Vertigo 20 is a tribute to twenty years of activity of the company: founded in 1992 by Adi Sha’al and Noa Wertheim, from the beginning Vertigo has created highly evocative performances inspired by nature and the elements, capable of giving life to a physical space of encounter between dancers and spectators through an unexpected and inspiring journey into unknown territories.
Vertigo 20 sees on the scene twelve dancers able, despite the impressive physical strength, to float in space with great sensuality almost mocking the force of gravity. In this work, Noa Wertheim goes through «the cobblestone path that she has arranged to decipher the secret of time. The path of the choreographer unfolds from real to surreal, from the intimate to the theatrical, from the impalpable to the tangible. The particular body language of the dancers will be able to offer a range of images ranging from vivacity to melancholy. It is a ritual process, a spectacular hourglass that measures the flow of time».
