Giardino Romantico di Palazzo Reale

 (1951, 122’) by Elia Kazan
After becoming a widow due to her husband’s suicide, the fragile Blanche moves to Mississippi, New Orleans, in her sister Stella’s house, who is married to the brute Stanley Kowalski.
The reason Blanche has decided to run way is also because of her scandalous behaviour; she had lost her family property, a part of which was destined to Stella and thus starts telling a sequence of lies to cover up her past. Stanley, however, demands explanations. Among her brother-in-law’s friends Blanche meets the shy Mitch, who is moon-struck by the woman. When Stanley finds out the truth about her, he puts his friend on guard, who then pushes away Blanche, destroying every chance for her to start a new life.
