In the near future women are monitored and diveded into categories according to the colour of their clothing: blue the Wives; green the ‘Marte’, households; brown the Aunts, lookouts; red the Handmaids and the only ones still entitled to give birth. Nobody must disobey, punishment is death or deportation. A “new world” that through women and their bodies seeks validation. A distopic reality?
