The Concert/show that Mimmo Napolitano and I have constructed is called “Festa per la Rabbia Mancata”, an apparently baroque oratory in the dramaturgy, that is to say organized in 12 stations, but with a neo-expressionist style. Three vocal groups (feminine, masculine and white voices) represent the archetypal figures of the Father, the Mother and the Son; these three figures become the metaphor of a soul conflict for every single human being, in whose soul both dimensions coexist, and these, often in conflict with each other, put their identity in crisis. “Anger” is the feeling that springs from this crisis. Let’s imagine, therefore, that this “anger” is at the basis of a revolution of the individual, who rebelling against bullying, discrimination, intolerance – as in a family rebellion – brings forth, by this anger, a revolution that allows human being to put himself in a condition of social, civil and human redemption. The musical pieces that we have composed and elaborated are traditional, often baroque or religious; they have been contaminated by South American music, as it is in that musical world that the meaning of the “revolution” has had a reality that today can be assumed as a metaphor for a failed revolution. These passages are followed by played numbers taken from Pier Paolo Pasolini, Bertold Brecht, Jose Saramago and Eduardo De Filippo.
