This year Campania Teatro Festival has turned its attention to children, with the fairy tales staged by I Teatrini. The company’s actors will fill the historic gardens of the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte with characters taken from masterpieces of world literature for children, the protagonists of shows inspired by fables put on in the delightful setting of the park (Bosco)

A journey into the world of Alice, encountering characters that closely resemble those in the famous story although they are not exactly like them. It might be to do with the setting amidst plants and trees … Oh yes, someone has left a book on a bench … and someone else finds it, and just at the moment when they open it … A really strange character arrives. He looks like a rabbit, and then … a ramshackle group leads us on the search for Alice.

Masks and simple props are used to bring to life some of the most famous fairy tales of talking animals which, from antiquity, have been told over the centuries and which still today we continue to love since early childhood: The fox and the grapes, The Fox and the Stork, The Lamb and the Wolf, The fox and the crow, The ant and the grasshopper, The tortoise and the hare, The animals and the plague, The wolf and the crane. The percussions and playful sounds create a live dialogue with the amusing, ironic characters who, thanks to Aesop and La Fontaine, hand down some wise lessons about life.

The lies, temptations, promises, betrayals, regrets and hopes of the most famous puppet in the world, with a big heart but weak resolve, who has to learn life’s lessons the hard way and with dire consequences. The audience will accompany Pinocchio on his exciting attempt to become a sensible boy. We shall experience with him the crucial encounters of his eventful story and, under the watchful eye of the Blue Fairy, thanks to her magic, providential presence, Pinocchio will save himself from the misadventures of those false hopes.

The story of a tree and its generosity. Of his love for a child, his friend and playmate, who it will continue to love over time, unreservedly, like a giant parent, following the stages of his life, from childhood to old age, each one marked by urgent needs and different requirements, which become increasingly demanding and pressing. The tree will know to wait for its “child”, his increasingly rare and detached returns, brimming with emotion each time he arrives. Each time, it will be delighted to welcome him, trying to rediscover the playful understanding of the past.
