Napoli Teatro Festival Italia and Benevento Città Spettacolo in synergistic cooperation, realize this year an original project on Eduardo De Filippo directed by Pierpaolo Sepe. Sik Sik, l’artefice magico – the hilarious story of a third-order illusionist struggling with a performance in which everything goes wrong – it’s a one-act play written by Eduardo in 1929, which was an immediate success with critics and audiences . 50 years later, in 1979, the playwright staged his work at the San Ferdinando in an edited and expanded version, very different from the original text. Of this representation, the theater critic Giulio Baffi has preserved a precious recording, from which was born the idea of this operation divided into two parts. Pierpaolo Sepe will stage Sik Sik presenting it exclusively for the sixth edition of the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia in its original draft of 1929, and then in the extended version of the ‘79, which will inaugurate Benevento Città Spettacolo 2013.
