Made in Cloister – Chiostro Santa Caterina a Formiello
Ewa Lipska
with Marina Ciccarini and Marco Bruno
Among the major Polish female poets, Ewa Lipska is capable of crossing through present time with disenchanted irony. A great friend of Wisława Szymborska, in her verses we find qiuestions such as this one: “I don’t even know/ if it is history that created us/ or if we have created history. If we are just the echo/ of someone else’s heart”. She will be presented by two of her most faithfull translators.
Devorah Major
with Gaspare Di Lieto (piano)
She is the third graduate poet from San Francisco. A multifaceted writer, dealing with many different genres and author of two novels, five poetry books, many articles and essays as well as a symphony. An artist whose poetry is revolved to potentially anyone, she chooses Jazz as her favourite channel. To accompany her is the piano player Gaspare Di Lieto, one that is very much familiar with Afro-American music. The first Italian book by Major, recently published by Multimedia Edizioni, is entitled A braccia aperte (With open arms).
