Scènes de la vie conjugale is a story dealing with the twenty years spent together of a couple, and about complicity and incomprehensions.
Married for ten years, Marianne and Johan are a modern couple. They seem to be away from any risk of ending their relationship. However, behind the appearance of wealth and happiness lie a discontent and dissatisfaction. One day Johan tells Marianne that he is in love with another woman, and plans on living together with her in Rome. The plot is a detailed and burning scanning of love relationships, where heartfelt break-ups and reunifications don’t seem to change the fact that the couple is destined for eternal love.
