The anthology by Paolo Febbraro, published by Elliot in two volumes, is entitled:
Poesia d’oggi. Un’antologia italiana.
DURS GRÜNBEIN
(collaboration with Università degli studi di Napoli “L’Orientale” and Goethe Institut, Napoli)
“Un fossato di cinquant’anni/ mi separa dal mio principio, /dall’idea che era mia brama. //Mi ha estratto a sorte la parola, la parola/con cui io abbraccio il mondo. / Con cui il mondo abbraccia me”.
Acclaimed and considered “a classic” of contemporary literature from the very early debut; Durs Grünbein (Dresda, 1962) is today one of the most read and translated authors of unified Germany.
His poetry finds it’s essence in a fertile reconsideration of language and style, capable of bringing together modern and antique elements, in an active dialogue with the experimental avant-gards of early last-century. His works feature elements of Baroque traits, or aspects recalling formal and metrical style of the Greek-Latin tradition. The work will be presented by Valentina Di Rosa, who is Professor of German Literature at the Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”.
