the Apulian theater and dance showcase for children

From 2 to 5 July
Naples,
Teatro Nuovo and Cortile delle Carrozze of Palazzo Reale

Puglia Showcase (www.pugliashowcase.it) is the format of Vetrina di teatro e danza pugliese. It was created to promote artistic exchanges in the theatrical sector at a regional level, as well as between national, and international productions. The 2019 edition will be a special section of Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, with shows and insights on the best theatrical production for children. It will be held from 2 to 5 July in Cortile delle Carrozze of Palazzo Reale and at Teatro Nuovo: a four-day event staging up to twelve theater and contemporary dance performances for children, and opening a focus entirely dedicated to Puglia with a look at the national and international scene. Furthermore, there will be B2B meetings between operators and production companies, and thematic lectures.

PSC19 is a project of the Puglia Region, conceived and realized by Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, funded under the FSC 2014-2020 “Interventions for the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage, and for the promotion of intangible heritage”, “Enhancement of culture and territorial creativity” Project.

In the Romantic Garden of Palazzo Reale, within the Dopofestival area, Puglia Village (created with the support of the Department of Agriculture of the Puglia Region) will entertain guests and audience every evening with Puglia’s best food and wines (wines, craft beers, street food) and concerts by Apulian musicians.

The companies and performances to showcase will be identified following a public procedure, and chosen by a commission of experts composed by a representative of Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, an expert of Teatro Ragazzi and a representative of ARTI (Association of Italian Theater Networks).
Besides the Festival audience, Puglia Showcase will target national and international operators. Representatives from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, National Theaters and Theaters of Relevant Cultural Interest, ARTI Regional Circuits, and directors of the most important festivals in Italy will be invited. Puglia Showcase will, therefore, allow a varied professional audience to attend and evaluate the shows; they will have the possibility to choose the Apulians and “bring them home”.
In addition to live shows, Puglia Showcase 2019 will host multidisciplinary study days on the Italian production, on distribution, on the economy of culture, and on audience development, enhancing TPP’s collaborations with MIBACT and other regional circuits, involving critics, national newspapers and magazines, as well as audience development networks.

Since 2012, in its previous editions held in Puglia and Rome, PSC has hosted a hundred Apulian production companies and operators from all over the world (Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, Brazil, United States, Australia, China, Spain, France, Brussels, etc. ), collaborating with bodies and subjects of international importance, such as Teatro di Roma – Teatro Nazionale, Fondazione Roma Tre Teatro Palladium, ANCT – National Association of Theater Critics.

Here are the numbers of the latest PSC edition, held in Rome in 2018: 2000 spectators in the Palladium and Villa Torlonia theaters, 50 operators from all over the world, 1200 users who have tasted Puglia Village’s flavors.
