What would happen if, by divine intervention or after an unusual natural phenomenon, Naples were to be without gravity for a day? This is exactly what happens with Manlio Santanelli’s caustic and ironic production Per oggi non si cade; a text based on the torrent of events set in a trash-filled Naples with footballs and discarded fish scraps floating through the air. The performance-installation takes the form of a guided tour of a museum; the audio guide leads the visitor through the story through video images and installations by students of the Naples Conservatory of Fine Arts. Directed by Fabio Cocifoglia, he says: «Every spectator can choose the chapter of the story based on the room visited; they themselves are part of an active set which changes every time. After this visit, I wanted the visitor’s visions and sensations of the walls, balconies, old people, children and sounds to be different; to be heard in another more empathetic and creative manner, more like Santanelli!».
