The Écrire et mettre en scène, aujourd’hui project is part of the sixth edition of the Face à Face – Parole di Francia per Scene d’Italia project promoted by the Institut Français Italia and the Embassy of France in Italy. The project was born from an idea by Le Panta Théâtre of Caen, and this year it will involve two 9-day sessions to be held in Naples.
In the first session, the author Marion Aubert and the director Gérard Watkins have worked together with five Italian actors on the text Orgueil, poursuite et décapitation (comédie hystérique
et familiale). Divided into eleven chapters, this comic work bring together about thirty characters who, during the development of the scenes, give a pitiless vision of power.
The actress and author Marion Aubert created the company Tire pas la Nappe in 1997 and now writes most of her work for the same company. The following are only some of her texts: Phaéton, Les Orphelines, Conseils pour une jeune épouse and Dans le ventre du loup.
Gérard Watkins is a multitalented artist, author, director and songwriter. As an author, he has collaborated in almost 30 theatre productions with directors such as André Engel, Claude Régy, Lars Norén, Jean-Louis Martinelli and Viviane Theophilides. He currently directs the Perdita Ensemble, composed of a series of actors, musicians and technicians.
