Why wonder about the sense of this title: Museo del Popolo Estinto (Museum of the extinct people)? “After all,” explains Moscato, “all my work has continuously and, with increasing awareness, involved putting together elements and fragments that show the gradual, but inexorable extinction of a people and a culture, of the “gens neapolitana” within a specific and very cruel “Museum” — the Theatre — which, by exposing the naked truth, albeit in an imaginary or symbolic form, is never, nor ever will be, reticent or complicit about what is referred to as decay”.
