In an endless night that seems suspended in time, two builders are at work in an abandoned theatre walling up the stage which is due to become part of the adjoining supermarket. It is unauthorised building work so they have to be quick and make every effort to finish their work before sunrise. But the theatre is a magical place and its profanation can unleash hidden, irrational presences capable of digging emotional chasms in the heart of these two unwitting workmen.
