Riccardo Caporossi presents his work Mura, a performance freely inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, a metaphor of the human condition and its vision of reality. «There is a wall – says the director – behind which there is a surface onto which shadows are projected. Behind that wall, the shadows become concrete and take form: hands, scarves, hats, ladders, bottles, telescopes, walking sticks, umbrellas… step-by-step the wall is dismantled, evoking those countless kilometres which are a sign of the degree of separation. Every attempt to communicate is blocked by that barrier; not necessarily something concrete or real like a wall but erected by that same combination of hate, fear and lack of imagination».
Coming from the world of figurative art and architecture, Riccardo Caporossi has worked for the past forty two years with Claudio Remondi through the historical research group Rem & Cap. With profound aesthetics, their performances focus on the lightness of the gesture and the absence of words, recalling the imaginary poetics of Beckett and Chaplin.
