Misantropie is the result of a stage creation workshop for the prisoners of the ‘Carcere di Napoli Poggioreale’. The final show comes to life through a body to body practice and sees prison not only as an alternative space to that of formal theatres, but also the summary of the spoiled and deviated society we live in: a place set at the borders of existence. Not quite a re-writing of Molière’s Misanthrope, rather a consideration on de-humanizing processes.
