This is a lyrical journey which goes from Neapolitan song to the fado, the tango and the flamenco. Lina Sastri is accompanied on stage by musicians and dancers. She sings a number of pieces known the world over, which have overcome language and cultural barriers. During the course of the evening she brings on Malafemmina, Maruzzella, Era de maggio, ’O sole mio, Alfama, Corazon encatenado, The man I love…
The show is a journey through Sastri’s life as an artist: «I start from the beginning, when, still very young – she says –, I met a “reginella” in music, without thinking, without studying, nothing… just by chance… I discovered ancient melodies and decided to sing them my own way», until the day – she continues – «a man by the name Pino Daniele wrote a song for me, and so I start dancing my way through the bolero, mambo, tammurriate and tango». Today an established performer, Sastri still sings «in a gutsy way, playing with fire by betting on dreams, by becoming closer to the blues found in the form of nostalgia and loneliness in Neapolitan songs or its carbon copy, the fado, or the tango inspired by its guitar and percussion sounds…».
