Tito Andronico, Shakespeare’s first tragedy, is his most ferocious, bloody and violent work. We could say that Tito Andronico is the equivalent of a splatter film of our time. In the rewriting of Santeramo, he abandons the tragic character to transfer him to the dramatic register in which the public of today more easily recognizes itself and Tito Andronico becomes more simply Tito, the anti-hero Tito.
