The Rua Catalana project is the first step in the direction of a greater structuring of the fervent relationship existing between the new Catalan dramaturgy and the Italian theater companies. Thanks to the active participation of the Delegation of the Catalan Government in Italy and of the Ramon Llull Institute, three important independent companies, which often use Neapolitan as a reference language for their artistic work, will bring on stage three texts by as many contemporaries authors – successfully staged in Barcelona in recent years – and set in Naples in the adaptations of Enrico Ianniello.

After talking to us about men who, in their sixties, begin to lose their role in society in Jucature, Pau Miró introduces us – in the key of black comedy – to four women who are approaching fifty: a biologist who works in a toll booth, an unemployed architect, an archaeologist who cleans apartment buildings, a teacher who has just been fired. The story begins when the architect leaves the house and decides not to return, leaving behind husband and son, and moving to a studio in Quartieri Spagnoli, to eat pizza and watch TV series.
