Napoli – Teatro Elicantropo
For this edition of Napoli Teatro Festival Italia Carlo Cerciello will stage the Erodiade (Herodias) revised by Giovanni Testori and performed by Imma Villa. Cerciello writes: «Through this play Testori is trying to say something impossible. He tears into shreds the very concept of “incarnation”: for instance God in John’s Christ, who introduces sin and forbids any form of divine aspiration for man; but even the “incarnation of the text” that the author tries to impose on the actress/character, proving how inevitable and humane failure is when dealing with any type of dogma».
