The story of Oedipus is a typical fairy tale of magic.
It is linked to the fertility cults of the ancient river valley civilizations: the old mother Earth welcomes in her womb the young seed, which penetrates it to hide, sleep and generate a fruit.
But what happens down there, in that time of maceration and death of the seed in the earth? What story lives in the earth? How to get inside and see it? The Sphinx knows this, but only when the children have deciphered its enigmas will the curtain open on the cave of the earth, where a seed, guarded within it, opens up and becomes a man: Oedipus.
