Buenos Aires, 1977. Claudio Tamburini is a young professional goal-keeper. On a Dicember day, he is taken hostage by an out of service military squad and is locked up in a temporary prison for refugees. He is suspected of being part of an organisation that is against the military dictatorship, and is therefore tortured brutally. After 120 days of illegal detention in the Mansiòn Seré, later known as the “house of horrors” just outside the suburbs of Moron, he decides to escape with three other mates. On March 24, 1978, naked and handcuffed they will nonetheless succeed in escaping.
The film was moth aesthetically and ethically something that had to be accomplished. Caetano chooses never to show torture scenes, just hinting at it through audio. Everything is essential, agonizing and important. Each sequence, scene or framing is inspired by some sort of moral criteria. Claudio and his friends emerge from the darkness of night, from a past that many refuse to overcome, and submit their “bare” selves to viewing. In order to remember.
