Fabrizio Gifuni presents his very own tribute to the Prince of Denmark in the work entitled Concerto per Amleto. In this case the many voices from The Tragedy intertwine with Šostakovicˇ’s fresh and innovative sound design for the Shakespearean drama. In two occasions he had dealt with the play: the 1932 suite drawn from the original soundtrack, directed by set designer Nicolai Akimov; and the 1964 work commissioned by the director Grigori Kozintsev. The visual imagery is re-invented through the voices and by Gifuni’s acting skills, and the musical staff is made up of 45 members, directed by maestro Rino Marrone.
