The show presents a chamber repertoire and is not a historical reconstruc-tion of events, but rather a “fantasy”. On stage, a small group of musicians and a wide range of “fantocci” (puppets) handled by actresses. The loca-tion thought for the staging is the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena. Clorinda Andreana is therefore the summary of a journey, only partly accomplished, between Adriana’s Napoli and the Venice that Monteverdi had reached. It is not to be represented according to its realistic and physical aspects, but as an undercurrent of voices and expectations.
