In the early 90s, Austria was shaken by a series of murders of prostitutes that led the police to deal with the first serial killer in the country’s history. The case fascinates many journalists, including the writer Jack Unterweger who, sentenced to life for murder in 1974, has recently obtained freedom thanks to the support of the literary elite, in particular the future Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek. When the investigation into the murders of prostitutes seems to be at a standstill, the police begin to suspect the very man who everyone believed fully rehabilitated.
