In 1739, in a chateau near Paris, a group of artists and aristocrats staged a pantomime ball known as the Ballet des Porcelaines, a work almost completely unknown today. Nothing survives of the set design, costumes, or choreography. Thanks to Meredith Martin, professor of art history at New York University, and to the choreographer Phil Chan, this fairy tale, after a tour abroad, will be premiered in Italy at the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte and at Palazzo Grassi in Venice.
