DIREZIONE ARTISTICA RUGGERO CAPPUCCIO – 2021

Time of changing name for the Campania Teatro Festival, the event directed for the fifth year by Ruggero Cappuccio and financed by the Campania Region. Increasingly projected onto the entire regional territory, the Festival, now in its 14th edition, will stage around 150 events, mainly outdoors and in total safety, from the 12th of June to 11th of July.

The Capodimonte Museum and Real Bosco di Capodimonte will be the centre of the event, hosting the big names of national prose, the new trends of the Osservatorio section, the creativity linked to the places of the Special Projects, the different genres of Music, the unprecedented glances offered by the Exhibitions, the poetic symposia of Literature, the marriage between art and sport realised by the SportOpera section, as well as a series of daytime activities that will make the Bosco a true citadel of art and culture.

Capodimonte, one of the most representative places of the Bourbon era, will also host “Il sogno reale. I Borbone di Napoli” (The Bourbons of Naples), a project by Ruggero Cappuccio that will see the characters and atmospheres of the royal dynasty materialise in the Princes’ Garden.

The evenings under the banner of theatre and art will also find fascinating locations in the region, including: the Teatro Grande of Pompeii – which hosts the Pompeii Theatrum Mundi festival – the Bourbon Belvedere of San Leucio, the Romanesque Cloister of the Cathedral of Salerno, the Roman Amphitheatre of Avella, the Natural Theatre of Pietrelcina and the ancient village of Montesarchio.

In September, the CTF returns to theatres with the debuts of great international artists, the events of the Dance and the Cinema sections.

As in previous editions, Maestro Mimmo Paladino interpreted the soul of the event by creating a work of art in six paintings, which enriches the catalogue and promotional materials.

The Festival confirms its prudent pricing policy with tickets at EUR 5 (free for the weaker social classes).

The proceeds from the Music section will be donated to the Cotugno Hospital in Naples.
