Another wonderful return is that of the Swiss director Christoph Marthaler with Aucune idée. This play – which, like his other
work, promises to be grotesque and surreal – explores a global phenomenon: the knowledge deficit. How does this happen exactly? Where does it occur? On the edge or at the centre of our skills? Marthaler and his longstanding collaborator Graham Valentine try to discover whether these deficiencies are individual ones or whether they can become group failings.
