We are in the church of San Nicola at Casal di Principe, on 19th March 1994. It is Saint Joseph’s Day. Don Peppe Diana is due to celebrate mass that morning. His friends have organised a party in the afternoon to celebrate his name day. The mass and the party never take place. The Camorra killers nipped his young life in the bud. To pay tribute to his memory, Teatro Totò, together with the students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, have put on a play about him, the dilemmas and the many doubts that Don Peppe also had about the Church’s attitude towards the camorristi and organised crime.
