“What is there outside?” This is the question we ask ourselves many times during the day. The outside is a many-sided entity, constantly being redefined, for better or for worse. One evening two women start may wondering what lies outside. And their words of fear, joy, sorrow start creating the world, as we did when we were children. Senet is based on a distorted perception of the outside world, on the idea that a word, uttered on a stage surrounded by darkness, can create an entire world.
