*Rami Khalaf replacing Jamal Chkair

In 1996 Riyadh is arrested by the Syrian secret services. He is 22 years old. He promises himself he’ll get out alive, he will testify. Accused of espionage, he is detained and tortured for 21 years. In the manner of One Thousand and One Nights, Riyadh’s story blends with those of several witnesses and survivors of the regime’s repression. The Syrian director refugee in France, Ramzi Choukair, gives a voice to these events to decipher a system that controls and punishes, pitting the Syrians against each other.
