Prima assoluta

Culinary performances are back at the Festival following last year’s success of Ragù. This performance, written by Rosi Padovani and directed by Roberto Azzurro, introduces another typical dish belonging to Naples’ culinary tradition: the Sartù.
The story unfolds inside a porter’s lodge in a block of flats, a microcosm around which revolve the lives of each family, where encounters and peculiar situations take place. Professionals, pensioners, homemakers, teachers, newlyweds and singles, everyone with their own idiosyncracies, weaknesses and enthusiasm; everyone with a “recipe” to contribute. Angelina, the concierge, steals a few secrets and tips as well as trivial gossip, stirring them all into her deli-cious dishes.
According to Rosi Padovani, «the kitchen is the heart of this microcosm, a universe full of feel-ings, relationships, promises and obstacles». Spectators will feel as though they’re peeping through a keyhole up to the moment when they become involved first hand: everyone eat, and enjoy your Sartù.
