Fringe2fringe is run by the Fondazione Campania dei Festival and by the Teatro Stabile di Napoli. It was set up to provide a chance for the theatre companies which participated in the 2011 E45 Napoli Fringe Festival to be part of this year’s edition of the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia.
An artistic committee made up of critics and theatre professionals selected five companies at the close of last year’s Fringe. They were each asked to create a new project in the form of a study. The Teatro dei Sensi Rosa Pristina was chosen after a period dedicated to viewing all the presentations, which ended last May. This year, they will perform their new pièce, Quando eravamo lupi.
Following in the footsteps of oral traditions, Quando eravamo lupi talks of Silence as the req-uisite for the pièce and the audience to interact properly. At the basis of this work by Rosa Pristina lie some anthropological questions about the world of oral culture: is it possible to reawaken the body’s memory through images drawn from childhood stories? Can old archetypes buried deep down within each of us come to the surface once more?
