Prima assoluta
The end product of the workshop Figli, held from October 2011 to March 2012, Un giorno tutto questo sarà tuo (One day all this will be yours) is the title of Davide Iodice’s latest work.
The performance examines the phenomenon of generational “inheritance” and is articulated in various phases involving a group of actors, dancers and their parents.
Starting from a series of memories and personal visions, the laboratory follows a voyage which Iodice himself defines as a “lived drama”, a way of giving life to a part of past existence which would otherwise have been lost. «Private inner realms which, emblematically minimalist and visionary, which piece together a story which is truly Italian» says the director.
On stage we have Tania and her mother, teacher and painter, Stefano and his father, craftsman and dancer, Davide and his mother who recites Leopardi from memory while she puts things away and generally tidies up… «I think of the history of Italy over the past seventy years, of our society – says Iodice – but seen from a more intimate viewpoint; that of our mothers and fathers […] and then us children and how similar and how diverse we are… something truly incomprehensible».
