Rediscovered after the publication of Suite française in 2004, Irène Némirosky today is considered one of the finest writers of the 1900s. Indeed, her own life seems like a novel: born in Kiev in 1903, she flees to Paris after the October Revolution, abandoning her Jewish religion to convert to Catholicism but was still deported to Auschwitz where she dies in 1942. Némirovsky is author of many novels and short stories, true gems, the plot revealing a highly original literary style, ranging from audacious contaminations between different literary genres; cinema, autobiographical, theatrical. This was inspiration for the idea to entrust some charismatic female interpreters to narrate a selection of these texts: men and women and the gripping and mysterious tales that they have to tell. Excerpts from the following texts will be read: The Ball, Fire in the Blood, David Golder, A Child Prodigy, Films parlés, Les vierges, Snow in Autumn.
