«As Spinoza ground his lenses to understand the world better, thus new technologies permit us to capture every single moment and observe every minute detail of existence». With these words Shiro Takatani – one of the most visionary (video)artists in the international panorama – describes ST/LL, his latest world which investigates the possible declinations of the English word “still” – silent, immobile, again – to conceive a performance which unravels time as a marvellous visual poem.
Shiro Takatani’s world is a strange one: the reality before our eyes are hidden; it reach us through the wide screen which amplifies its dimension and movement slowly and obsessively. This performance is not the customary play between physical presence and video projections: the objective is to interrupt our indolent sight with visual tricks which produce a staggered effect in our perception.
