Lithuanian director Eimuntas Nekrosius carries out a workshop for professional actors aged between 23 and 36, choosing to work on journalist and writer Svetlana Aleksievic, Nobel Prize in Literature 2015, specifically on the books Prayer for Chernobyl, Zinc Boys and Second-hand time. Life in Russia after the collapse of communism.
Svetlana Aleksievic, of Belarusian origin, is considered one of the greatest contemporary authors and reporter. His works have been translated into more than forty languages. Lithuanian director Eimuntas Nekrosius will work with students in his lab on the writer’s denunciation books, telling the Soviet Union, the Afghanistan war, Chernobyl and the victims of the nuclear disaster. In his literature Aleksievic narrated the enchantment and disillusion, speaking of the victims and the executioners, telling through a chorus of voices illusions and disillusionments of an era. For years Aleksievic was forced to live in exile in Paris because of his strongly critical ideas towards the dictatorial regime in Belarus.
