Anime Scalze is the grieving voice of a woman living in a condition of pain; but, thanks to the poetry of the Sirian author Maram Al-Masri – whose poems are brief compositions on love recalling the style of Sappho – she will find a way out from her struggles.
As Danilo Macrì explains, «what we hear on stage is the harmless voice of a soul, constantly on the edge of a metamorphosis. It is like a shadow, at first, and then the grieving woman herself. The plot of the story creates a sound effect on stage: the overlapping of three distinct female voices that sometimes speak in foreign language. We hear echoes of the bombings. Links as they shed. But also the love of Al-Masri».
