Winner of the 2013 Bruntwood Prize for best playwriting, the work is a debut play by twenty eight year-old Luke Norris. So Here We Are is a story on what could happen when nothing happens, a compassionate insight on young lives interrupted, and on some heart-warming tales of friendship, struggling to accept their life as adults.
The dialogue by Luke Norris is exhilarating, but not so much to seem unreal. It is authentically ordinary, like a hidden recording made on the bus or at a pub, or – given the childish nature of the characters – on the playgrounds; this natural and realistic approach is the key to the script’s success.
