Il Tempo è veleno (Time is Poison) is a bitter and melancholy comedy, intertwining three stages of life and three different time periods in a single ‘symbolic’ space: the spacious living room of Neapolitan apartment overlooking the sea. As Saponaro says: «The sudden events of turmoil in the plot lead the characters of this comedy into re-thinking things, giving into silly actions which hide – behind the borderline illusions of the game – an essence of death which they cannot escape. There is no remedy, no antidote, no redemption… because actions proceed slowly in our lives like a mean drop of poison, relentless».
